Phyllis (Hope) Beacom of Whitby, and formerly of Brussels, passed away peacefully while surrounded by her family at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Wednesday, February 18th, 2009. Born in Paisley on August 11th, 1916, Phyllis was in her 93rd year. Phyllis was the beloved wife of the late Bill Beacom, who predeceased her in 1992 and will be sadly missed by her daughter Hope Fennell and husband Ron of Whitby and her grandchildren Maeghan and John. Phyllis will be fondly remembered by her brother Jim and Lenore Hope of Paisley, her sister in law Kathleen Fritz of Brooklyn, her brother in law Roy and Shirley Beacom of Chatham and her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents James and Ellen Hope and sister Arnetta. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service being conducted from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home on Saturday, February 21st at 2:00 PM with Reverend Cathrine Campbell officiating. Spring interment in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
