Maria Verbeek

Maria (van Elswyk) Verbeek of Brussels, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Monday, December 3rd, 2007. Born in Hazerswoude, the Netherlands on October 6th, 1921,Maria was in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Gerrit Verbeek. Dear mother of Alice Marks and her husband David of Brussels, Jack Verbeek and his wife Judy of Atwood, Peter Verbeek and his partner Elaine of Sudbury and Harry Verbeek and special friend Connie of Wingham. Dear grandmother of Rose, Susan, Sandra, Lori, Brandi and Tyler. Also loved by her 12 great grandchildren and her sister in law Riek Predeceased by her son Hans and her brothers and sisters. Friends will be received by the family two hours prior to the funeral service being conducted at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 5th at 2:00 PM with Reverend Cathrine Campbell of Melville Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
