McCutcheon: John Lenard “Jack”
Passed away peacefully after a long, courageous battle with cancer at the
Huron Residential Hospice in Clinton on Wednesday, September 19th, 2018
in his 87th year.
Beloved husband of Esther (Raymond) for 63 years.
Dear father of Lori & Michael Malhiot of Belgrave, Michelle & Bruce Blake of RR#2 Brussels and Jill & Don Sholdice of Brussels.
Loving grandfather of Brandon, Lindsay & Jason, Adam, Ashley & Tucker, Bridget & Jacob, and Holly.
Special great-grandfather to Isla, Owen, Max & Mya.
Brother to Bob (Jeanette) and Marg (Bernell) Smith
Brother-in-law to Betty McCutcheon and Lois McCutcheon.
Predeceased by grandson Mitch, brothers Casey,George (Barb), Bill, Lorne, Fred (Mary), sister Anne (Lorne) Bryans, Berva (Jack) Rice and Mel.
Missed by many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
Remembered in his community of Brussels and all of Huron County for his leadership as a councillor, reeve and warden. He was a lifetime member of the Brussels Lions Club, a founding member of the Brussels Flying Club, member of the Brussels Odd Fellows Lodge and an active member of the St. John’s Anglican Church & the St. John’s Cemetery (formerly called the McCutcheon Cemetery). Jack was a prominent Brussels business owner of McCutcheon Motors for over 50 years. He will be fondly remembered for his stock car racing career from 1957-1967 as “Jack The Ripper” #73 by his many fans. His family was his proudest achievement and his memory and legacy will live on through them for generations to come.
Friends and family will be received at Riverside Funeral Home on Sunday, September 23rd from 6-9 p.m. Funeral Service will take place at St. John’s Anglican Church on Monday, September 24th at 11 a.m. with 1 hr visitation prior to the service.
Private Interment at St. John’s Anglican Cemetery. Reception to follow at BMG community centre after the church service.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy memorial donations can be made to St. John’s Anglican Church/ St. John’s Cemetery, or the Huron Residential Hospice.
