John Engel

John Engel of Cranbrook passed away on Thursday, August 29th, 2013 at Victoria Hospital, London. Born in Brussels on December 2nd, 1942, John was in his 71st year. John was the beloved husband of 51 years to Pat (Ward) and will be sadly missed by his children David and Janet Engel of Cranbrook, Pam and Keith McLean of Brussels and Judy Engel and partner Tina of Cold Lake, Alberta. Loving grandfather to Shawn and Natalie, Melissa and Stephen, Jonathon, Cole, Shea, and Brock. Dear great grandfather of Angel, Jaiden and Brady. John was also loved by his siblings Isabel Wick of White River, Faye and Campbell Grant of Listowel, Dianne McClory of Kincardine, Gayle and Ken Dewar of Monkton, Barry and Diane Engel of Brussels and sister in law Cindy Engel of Seaforth. Predeceased by his parents Ross and Tilly, his brother Monty, Brothers in law Ron McClory and Eldon Wick and 2 children in infancy. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday from the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted on Tuesday, September 3rd at 2:00 PM officiated by reverend Elwin Garland. Burial in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
