Gerald Gibson

Gerald Patterson Gibson of Brussels, passed away at Wingham & District Hospital on Wednesday, January 24th, 2007. Born in Wartime, Saskatchewan on January 30th, 1918, Gerald was in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Isobel (MacTavish) Gibson. Dear father of Mary Douma and her husband Maurice of Morris Township, Don Gibson and his wife Cathy of London, Peter Gibson and his wife Kate of Stratford, and Peggy Aitchison and her husband Bill of Brussels . Loving grandfather of Laura & Jamie, Heather, Amy, Mike, Jeff, Pam, Mark, Scott, Kate, Mary Ann and Colleen, and his great grandchildren Avery and Callum. Also loved by sister-in-law Edith McFadzean and husband Tom of Toronto and his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents John & Cora, brother Harvey and sisters Lillian, Aleen and Margaret. Friends will be received by the family from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Monday at the Schimanski Family Funeral Home where the funeral service will be conducted on Tuesday, January 30th at 2:00 PM with Reverend Cathrine Campbell officiating. Spring interment in Brussels Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Renovation Fund of Melville Presbyterian Church or to the Canadian Cancer Society. A Masonic memorial service under the auspices of St. John�s Lodge No. 284 A.F. & A. M. will be held Monday at 9 PM from the funeral home.
